Everyone looks forward to the weekend, but did you know that for so many children in Charles County the weekend means no breakfast or lunch. There is a huge need in the community and it is unacceptable to have children go hungry when the school doors close. That is why The Arnold House, working with the Charles County Board of Education have teamed up to make sure our children do not go hungry over the weekend.
Initially we provided meals for 70 students and their families. That number grew to over 200 in our second year. For the 2017-18 school year, we help 20 schools and over 620 students. How can you help? You can always drop off non perishable food items at our office. You can hold a food drive or fundraiser to support us. If that’s to big a task, simply spread the word, grocery shop and or donate to our paypal account. Please write “children” in the comment section. Lets keep these children fed in hopes that one day they will lead our country and remember what there village did for them.
